Ryan C. Means is a wildlife ecologist with the Coastal Plains Institute and Land Conservancy (CPI). Ryan has worked closely with his father, Bruce, as research partners since 1996. His varied research interests include working with amphibians and reptiles, temporary pond metapopulation dynamics, underwater archaeology, and vertebrate paleontology. He also has worked extensively with neotropical migratory songbirds in both Alaska and Florida. Currently, Ryan is co-principle investigator with Rebecca P. Meegan on CPI’s most recent research assessing the amphibian response to impacted wetland augmentation using groundwater.

Ryan’s passion is being in the wildest remaining places in North Florida and introducing them to interested people. His particular interest is blending outdoor adventure with natural history interpretation. He offers guided ecological adventure trips to the wildest destinations in North Florida.
