Big Bend Biodiversity Tour – October 15th (all day)
Spend the day learning about as many habitat types, creatures, and plants that can be seen in one day in Florida’s eastern Panhandle. Fall wildflowers will be a focus. We will head to CPI’s own Apalachicola Lowlands Preserve, with stops along the way. Hop in our van at CPI headquarters, and spend the day with Ryan as your tour guide. All inclusive adventure. We provide transportation, snacks, extra water and drinks. Proceeds go towards our efforts to preserve the biodiversity of the southeastern coastal plain through research and education.
Tallahassee Science Festival – October 22nd (10am – 2pm)
Mark your calendars! Come out to the 11th Annual Tallahassee Science Festival at Kleman Plaza and meet some of the Fall Terns and, of course, Surfer the most famous striped newt in the world. We’ll have t-shirts, the last of our 2022 striped newt pins, presentations on the half hour, and lots of ephemeral wetland critters. Hope to see you there!
Secrets of the Wacissa – October 23rd (all day)
Paddling adventure down the legendary Slave Canal of the Wacissa River. Guided by CPI president Ryan Means. Ryan will share with you his extensive natural history knowledge of this pristine first magnitude spring paradise. All inclusive adventure. Proceeds go towards our efforts to preserve the biodiversity of the southeastern coastal plain through research and education.
Dipnetting Days – October 23rd (2pm – 4pm)
Monthly training event/refresher for participants in our Adopt a Pond program, but also a way for the general public to come out just to learn about wetlands and amphibians. This program is free but registration is required.
