Wildflower Wonderland Tour–April 8th (10 am – 2 pm)

Join CPI President Ryan Means on a lovely day exploring every corner of our very own Apalachicola Lowlands Preserve.  April is a peak wildflower month. We’ll walk gently along paying attention primarily to wildflowers, but we will discuss the delicate ecological relationships that make the longleaf pine ecosystem so biologically diverse.  We’ll also learn about the ecological management techniques that CPI uses to restore the preserve back to a healthy, diverse longleaf pine ecosystem.   No natural history topic will be off the table. We’ll probably get wet in a couple creeks, slog in a bit of muck, and handle a few creatures while we are at it…Don’t forget your cameras!

Dipnetting Days – April 8th (1pm – 3pm)

Monthly training event/refresher for participants in our Adopt a Pond program, but also a way for the general public to come out just to learn about wetlands and amphibians. This program is free but registration is required.
